Landscaping jobs in the UK

Hard and soft landscaping work — paving, decking, walls, turf and planting — on domestic and commercial projects.

Landscaping is construction outdoors. A typical project involves setting out levels, excavating, laying sub-base, installing paving, decking, walls, fences, drainage and lighting, then finishing with turf, planting and mulching. It is heavier and more machine-led than garden maintenance, and the quality of the finish is judged on tolerances, falls and detail.

Projects are usually run by a small team under a foreman, so reliability and safe working matter as much as technique. Landscaping also gives the clearest route into self-employment: experienced landscapers commonly move from day rates to running their own contracts.

Every specialist page follows the same structure: live vacancies, how the career progresses, and the qualifications employers actually ask for.

Vacancies on this page are advertised directly by employers through Gardening Careers. We do not create example roles to fill a category, and roles advertised on an employer's own website are shown separately as external opportunities.
